NYC Family Justice Centers have a lot of resources. If a patient tells me, ‘I’m getting evicted,’ I can call a case manager to explain their options. Or I can have a lawyer explain concerns related to immigration status, so the patient knows their rights. It helps with their anxiety, and changes our session.
